Your decision to follow Jesus is the most important decision you’ll ever make!

So where do you start?

Click here to find a few ideas and resources we thought would be helpful as you start your journey with Jesus.
Reading the Bible
The Bible is a big book and it’s difficult to know where to start. If you need a Bible, you can download
a Bible to your mobile phone. We recommend the YouVersion Bible App, which you can download
by clicking here.  Alternatively, if you would prefer a hard copy of a Bible we can send you one. All you need to do is email us and let us know.

There are a number of different translations of the Bible. To make it easier for you we would recommend using the New International Version (NIV) to begin with.

Our friends at Belfast City Vineyard have also produced some resources to help you read the Bible
and spend time with Jesus. You can access those by clicking here.
Daily Meditations
The Lectio 365 app is a Christian daily devotional resource that helps you encounter God and shape your life by praying the Bible every day. You can start and end your day with God using their morning and evening meditations.
Freedom in Christ Course
The Freedom in Christ Course is a 10 session discipleship course, perfect for doing in a small group.  It will help you:

LIVE out your new identity in Christ

BREAK THROUGH to spiritual maturity

UNDERSTAND God's purpose for your life

UNCOVER strongholds and deception

RESOLVE issues from the past

BECOME an even more fruitful disciple.

We are seeking to run the Freedom in Christ Course on a regular basis, as one of our small groups.   If you would like to be informed when we know when the next one will run, please email us at hello@3countiesvineyard.church and we will then send you details when we have them.
The Bible Course
The Bible Course will help you to explore the BIG story and understand the Bible for yourself.  Over eight sessions you will see the big picture of the Bible storyline - from Genesis to Revelation.  Along the way you will pick up tools and skills that will help you read it.

We often have a small group doing the Bible Course.   If you would like to be informed when we know when the next one will run, please email us at hello@3countiesvineyard.church and we will then send you details when we have them.
Community
One of the great things about putting your faith in Jesus is you become part of God’s big family! The Bible encourages us to do life together with other believers. We are meant to connect with one another, worship God together, be there to encourage one another, support one another and pray for one another. It is great to be part of a church family community where this happens.

There are three main ways you can get involved:

1) By joining our church family gathering on a Sunday morning - joining in with our times of corporate worship and sticking around to enjoy a coffee afterwards and chat to people.

2) By joining a small group - where you can get to know a smaller group of people at a deeper level. It is often through such groups that lasting friendships develop.

3) By joining a serving team, where you can get to know others whilst serving a common purpose together.

It can sometimes take a while before we feel like we are really known and belong, we would encourage you to press in and invest the time into developing these relationships with others in the church family. We believe such relationships brings great joy our Father’s heart and enables others in the church family to be a blessing to you and you to them.
Prayer
Quite simply, prayer is talking to God.

In the Vineyard, we love to pray. If you’re just starting out your journey with Jesus and you don’t know how to pray, you are not alone! Jesus’s disciples asked ‘Lord, teach us how to pray’ and in response, Jesus shared with them a pattern of prayer - what we now know as ‘The Lord’s Prayer’.  You can find it in the Bible in Luke Chapter 11 and also in Matthew, Chapter 6., as well as below.  This would be a great place to start!

The Lords Prayer:

Our Father, Who is in heaven,
Holy is Your Name;
Your Kingdom Come,
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil,

Amen

You may also find a prayer plan, such as ‘Teach us to pray’ on the YouVersion Bible App helpful. Just search ‘teach us to pray’ using the search function in the app.

If you would like others to pray for you, for whatever reason, we would love to do that!. Please contact us to arrange that.

You would also be really welcome to join us for pray early on Friday mornings, via zoom.
